Pottery Classes & Experiences

Pottery Classes

At Poppins Pottery we run a range of fun and creative pottery sessions from throwing on the potter's wheel to handbuilding with clay.  Suitable for people of all ages and abilities so whether you've always fancied 'having a go' on the potters wheel, joining a structured hand building workshop or freestyling your own creation, there's sure to be a session that suits.

Pottery Classes

Experience the therapeutic benefits that working with clay can bring, relax and de-stress during a Pottery Class. Sessions are small,  friendly and creative - Classes are kept small so that everyone can get the tutor support needed whilst having the opportunity to explore and experiment with their own ideas.

 Weekly Pottery Class

We currently have our weekly classes 'on hold' but can provide take home kits and instructions for those of you who feel the need to get their hands dirty again and enjoy the therapeutic benefits pottery has to offer.

    Pottery Taster Sessions & Experiences

Short Taster Sessions enabling you to sample the wonders of  clay, whether hand building or throwing on the potter's wheel. These experiences provide the perfect introduction  to Pottery focussing on the 'fun element' side of  things.

    Throwing Experience

Upon arrival we’ll run through the basics before demonstrating pottery throwing on the wheel to make a small Pot. You’ll then have up to half an hour on the wheel to make a small pot o(or two) before moving on to embellish with clay shapes and paint. Allow up to two hours in total for this experience. (Suitable for up to 4 people) a fun ‘taster’ pottery experience for those who have never tried a potters wheel and always fancied ‘having a go’.

We’re on hand to offer as much or as little assistance required. Aprons are provided but we recommend wearing clothes you won’t mind getting a little messy. Leave your creation with us to glaze and kiln fire. Once ready we will post via courier, or you may collect if local

    Pottery Experience

This is a Handbuilding Pottery Workshop (no Wheel work)

Upon arrival at the Studio and after an introduction I will demonstrate how to make your project then it’s over to you to create your own using the studio equipment and materials provided. I remain available to offer assistance throughout the session.

Creations can be coloured on the day (time permitting) and left with us to glaze and kiln fire.  Once completed we will then gift wrap and post within the UK for a cost of £5 per item, or make available for collection.
